 Today is my 74th birthday.  How time flies when you are having fun!  I think that some of the best times of my life were the years that I was able to buy and sell non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, etc.) --including aluminum cans--which was a major part of the business.  Most of my buying was done on the San Carlos Indian Reservation.  A permit (at that time) cost $50 for 6 months.  Just before I had to quit the business the price went up to $100 per month.  That was one of the reasons that I quit buying but the main reason was my health---as I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and had my prostrate removed.  That did not get it all so had to go thru a chemotherapy program at the U of A Cancer center.  Then they (my doctor at the VA Hospital) put me on Hormone treatments for several months. That has been several years ago now and so far I am "holding my own" (whatever that means).

So now I am waiting for my daughter to get off work.  She is going to take me and probably some more of our immediate family to the Golden Corral steak house for dinner.
