She loved to chase the rubber ball and she would
tease you to get you to take it away from her and
throw it again.  She was very agile and could
catch the ball in the air most of the time.

Last Pic of Tammy Alive
We lost Tammy today.  I had to have her put to sleep after she was hit by a car.  About 2:15 pm, I was getting ready to take the pickup truck to go meet Emmetts school bus up by Erickson School to pick him up and bring him home.  I had the back of the pickup (tailgate) open so the dogs could jump in.  I took Tammy, Regalo and Huera into the storeroom from the backyard and as I usually do, I reprimanded them to go straight to the pickup.  I opened the storeroom door to the carport and the three took off.  Huera and Tammy headed toward the next door neighbors yard (towards Mann Street) and Huera stopped by a tree where sometimes there is a cat hanging out.  But evidently Tammy seen someone across Mann Street that she wanted to bark at and she kept on going at a hard run.  I did not see her being hit but I heard it and it was a hard hit.  The driver did not stop or return to the scene.  I was crying Oh No!  oH NO! as I seen her laying out in the street.  I could not go immediately to Tammy as I had to get Huera and Regalo back in the yard.  As soon as I had them secure in the yard, I got in my pick up and drove over and parked next to Tammy.  Good samaritan neighbors had already brought a blanket over.  After they determined that I was the dogs owner, I told them that I had to meet a school bus to pick up Emmett.   They offered to take Tammy to the nearest vetenary which was Kolb and Golf Lnks (not too far from Frys Store).
I agreed and we wrapped Tammy in the blanket and I picked her up and handed her to this neighbor lady and told them that I would meet them down at the vets office in a few minutes.  I proceeded on up the street to meet Emmetts school bus.  I called Maytes cell phone, got hold of Enrique and told him that Tammy had been hit by a car.  Mayte was able to get on the phone a few seconds later and I told her about it. She told me that she was leaving right away from the Shop to come to where Tammy was.  Then Emmett arrived on the bus and came to the truck.  I had to tell him why the dogs were not with me (as they usually were).  We went from the bus stop straight to the vetenary office.  Tammy was on the table with an IV and Oxygen being applied.  I think she recognized that I was there as I rubbed her forehead.  She was bleeding internally and some blood had come out of the mouth.  Mayte arrived about 10 minutes after I got there and we both cried and tried to console Tammy.  The doctor there said the prognosis was not good, that if she survived, she would have to be in a vetenary hospital for some time.  The doctors opinion was a 40 to 50 percent chance of survival.  Mayte and I discussed options and I decided to put her to sleep.  Emmett was allowed in to say goodbye--that was a difficult moment-- and then Mayte went with Emmett back out front.  I signed the necessary papers and as I was doing that, Tammy had a seizure and I thought she was going to die right then but they managed to give her a shot that stabalized her.  A few minutes later the doctor told me that she was going ahead and put her down now.  I watched as she breathed her last breaths and a little of me died with her.  I loved her so much.  I have never lost a child but I cannot imagine it being much worse.  The other two dogs that she played the most with (Regalo and Huera) --- I think that they understand that she is gone.  They are giving me a lot of licks and staying close by me.  (I hope that Tammy is now with Linda and John)  May God Bless them all.
